From time to time, Hess creates special trucks that are not offered for sale to the general public. In the past, these trucks have been produced to commemorate special events or new products. Consequently, very few of these trucks are produced. 

In 1993, Hess improved its diesel fuel by adding advanced detergents. This special limited-edition vehicle was distributed to commercial customers to commemorate that introduction. The truck was based upon the 1990 Tanker Truck.
